WHISKEY TOWER RISES TO THE OCCASION

WHISKEY TOWER showcased her staying credentials after charging home to her maiden victory at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday.

The lightly raced mare relished the step-up to 1600m, finishing off powerfully along the fence from back in the field to score a thrilling victory under the urgings of jockey Luke Dempsey.

“It was a really good win,” said Dempsey.


“She’s a willing mare and was very tough to the line.

“I decided to switch back to the inside and got a dream run up on the fence.

“She was really strong to the line and it feels like she’ll get further.”
