STREET DANCER showed great courage to score a fifth career victory after getting out to his pet distance at Doomben.

All of his previous wins for Vandyke Racing had come at 2000m or further, and having rattled home to grab third over the Sunshine Coast mile last start, the son of Pride Of Dubai was primed to run a big race in Saturday’s Open Quality Handicap (2000m).

STREET DANCER was on the sidelines for a year after suffering a tendon injury, but the 5YO has now returned to full form and fitness and proved too strong for his rivals under jockey Michael Cahill.

After sitting just off a moderate early speed, the pair picked their way through the pack to score by a neck and take STREET DANCER’s career earnings through the $300,000 mark.

Many congratulations to his owners: Mr S P Mayer, Turtle Racing, Mr H J Hutchinson, Mr J Stringer, Mr K J Keady, Mr S Duffy, Mr S Eckstein, Mr G Macris, Mr N J Rosato, Mr K George and Mr M D Wiener.
