DOOMBEN DELIGHT FOR ACAPULCO GIRL

First-up flier ACAPULCO GIRL enhanced her terrific fresh record when she registered a comfortable win at Doomben. 

Fresh has always been best for the mare and she duly scored a fourth victory from five first-up starts after racing away from her rivals in Wednesday’s Class 3 Plate (1200m).

Jockey Ash Butler had ridden stablemate LADY LUCIFER to victory on Grafton Cup Day, and the experienced hoop promptly notched an On Track Racing double with another textbook steer aboard ACAPULCO.

The pair were positioned prominently throughout, and after hitting top gear ACAPULCO GIRL put the race to bed impressively to move her career earnings to the brink of $100,000. 

“That was a good win by the mare,” said Butler. 

“She’s obviously got a very good first-up record so we were reasonably confident coming here today. I’ve had a good association with On Track Racing for quite a long time now, and it was good to ride another winner for the team today after Lady Lucifer’s win at Grafton last week.” 

Many congratulations to Grant and the On Track team, who purchased the daughter of Contributer for $110,000.
