REMLAPS ANGEL MAINTAINS FLYING FORM

REMLAPS ANGEL continued her prosperous preparation when she scored the third win of her career at the Gold Coast, which has become a happy hunting ground for the mare.

From her five starts this campaign, the daughter of Hellbent has now collected more than $40,000 after her latest success in Saturday’s Benchmark 65 Handicap (1000m).

Following a slightly sluggish start, REMLAPS ANGEL settled in the second half of the field under Micheal Hellyer, who made his move at the 400-metre mark.

REMLAPS ANGEL still had plenty of ground to make up, but she gradually reeled in the leaders and was very courageous late to score by a neck.

“She didn’t step away all that well,” said Hellyer.

“But she travelled really well throughout, and even at the top of the straight I was pretty confident we were going to win. It took us a while to get to the leader, but she got the job done and it was a very good form race, so she should definitely go on with it now.”

Victory took her earnings to $66,000, congratulations to Aramco Racing and all her owners: Mystery Downs, Mrs C M Cook, Mr P M Hodgens, Mr W A Palmer, Mr T N Lawler, Mrs W M Palmer, Mr B R Palmer, Mr N G Palmer and Dr C G Lawler.
