XPRESSO made the best possible start to his career with Vandyke Racing with victory on his stable debut.
After an impressive trial in mid-March, the 5YO represented his new ownership group for the first time at Ipswich on Easter Monday and promptly scored a fourth career victory which carried his earnings close to $200,000.
XPRESSO had been winless since December 2022, but the change of environment sparked an immediate upturn in his fortunes in the Class 4 Plate (1100m).
Jockey James Orman stalked the early speed before peeling XPRESSO to the outside at the 400m mark. The pair soon put a margin on their rivals and whilst XPRESSO perhaps felt the pinch late, he still had enough left in the tank to win by half-a-length.
