PROVANCE flew home at the Sunshine Coast on Friday night to shed his maiden status at career start number five.
The 3YO colt had shown plenty of promise without winning during his debut prep, but he more than made amends with a dashing display in the Maiden Plate (1200m).
After a solid return at Eagle Farm in late October, PROVANCE dropped back to provincial grade at the second start of his campaign.
The son of Star Witness was always in a prominent position under Ron Stewart, who was in the saddle for the first time.
The pair made their move at the 400-metre mark, and once he had swept to the lead there was no stopping PROVANCE as he powered away for a two-length win.
Many congratulations to the team at Yarramalong Stud, who shared in a cheque for $16,800.
