PHILIA CROWNED QLD 3YO OF THE YEAR

ree

PHILIA's outstanding 2024/25 season has been recognised on Queensland racing’s biggest stage, taking out the 3YO of the Year title at the Queensland Racing Awards at The Star, Brisbane.

The daughter of All Too Hard has been a revelation for the Vandyke stable, stepping up from a Maiden win at Doomben in February to her crowning glory with Stakes victories in the Listed Princess Stakes and Group 2 The Roses during the QLD Winter Carnival.

Her consistent performances against top-class company established her as one of Queensland’s most exciting young gallopers.

She joins former stable stars YANKEE ROSE (2017 QLD Horse of the Year), ALLIGATOR BLOOD (2020 QLD Horse of the Year) and GYPSY GODDESS (2022 Australian 3YO Filly of the Year) to have taken out major racing awards in recent years.

Accepting the award were her owner/breeders from the Harris and Irwin families.

PHILIA's success has continued on a rich history of success for the Harris and Irwin families who owned and race her mother MEERLUST, who sadly passed away recently.

MEERLUST has also produced multiple Group 1 winner DUAIS as well as Vandke Racing's former Stakes winner BACCARAT BABY.

The now 4YO mare is set to embark on an Autumn campaign in Melbourne next year as she looks to add to her outstanding record of four wins and two seconds from seven career starts, amassing over $357,700 in prize money to date.
