LOST HIS BEANS sealed a home track double on Sunday after he extended his excellent race record with a powerful finish.
Despite missing the start in the Benchmark 65 Handicap (1200m), the 4YO surged home to follow his stablemate COLLEAGUES into the winner’s enclosure and complete a hat-trick of victories on his home track.
With three straight wins and a metropolitan second on his debut, the son of Spill The Beans is starting to build a handy profile and jockey Jimmy Orman was effusive in his praise after the pair’s latest success.
“It was another great win,” he said.
“We weren’t in the ideal position, but he had too much on them. Even though we got back in the run after the slow start and had around four lengths to make up in the straight, I was never really worried.
“You can ride him where you want to, so he’s a nice horse and I think he’ll be even better next time.”
