LADY LUCIFER PROVES A SPEED DEMON

ree

Flying mare LADY LUCIFER continued her winning ways with a dominant front-running victory at the Gold Coast on Pink Ribbon Cup Raceday.

Despite a tardy getaway, the speedy Hellbent mare recovered to take up a front running role and was never headed, kicking clear to win by 2.5 lengths under the urgings of Emily Lang.

The performance made it back-to-back Saturday Metropolitan wins for LADY LUCIFER and extended her impressive record to four wins and five placings from just 10 career starts as she moved towards the $150,000 mark in prizemoney earnings.

“It was a terrific, dominant win by Lady Lucifer today,” said David.

“I was a little worried when she was slow away, as she flew the gates at her previous run and put herself right on the pace. She had to do some work early to get across, but once again she was strong at both ends of the race so full credit to her and Emily Lang.

“The pleasing part was her recovery – heart rate and breathing were well within normal limits, and she’s a happy horse. We’ll see how she pulls up over the next couple of days, but it’s very satisfying to see her back up her last brilliant win with another top performance.”
