JUNGLE JET LAUNCHES AT IPSWICH

JUNGLE JET gave trainer David Vandyke the biggest winning margin of his 31-year training career after the 4YO lived up to his name with a 15-length maiden victory at Ipswich.

Having shown admirable consistency throughout his seven-start career, the son of Tarzino scored an emphatic first win when he stepped up in trip in the Maiden Plate (2150m) on Saturday.

With Micheal Hellyer in the saddle, JUNGLE JET stalked the speed before the pair took control of proceedings a long way from home.

The further they went, the bigger the margin became as JUNGLE JET turned the race into a one-act affair to collect a cheque for $16,800 and extend our winning streak.

“I’ve been a trainer for 31 years, and that was the biggest winning margin in all that time,” said David.

“He hit the line full of running, so it was an amazing win. We knew he would improve from his second-up run, but I still didn’t expect that. The horse got the perfect run and he well and truly put them to the sword. His post-race recovery was pretty good, so I can’t wait to give him another run in the next few weeks.”

Our last four runners have now produced three winners and a second, many congratulations to all his owners: Mr J Bebedellis, Mr W Goldthorp, Mrs K E Goldthorp OAM, Mr M A Green, Mrs A M Green, Mr A N Smith, Mrs V A Smith, Mr S J Morrison, Mr J C Quirk, Mr A Counsel, Mrs L A Chapman, Mr J D Davis, Mr Z Holt, Mr D Licastro, Mr M Macfarlane, Mr J R Makepeace, Mr G O'Neal, Mr D C Milles and Mr M J Taylor.
