JIMMY'S BROTHER EYES GOLD ON THE COAST

JIMMY’S BROTHER has the $3million Gold Coast Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (1400m) firmly in his sights after he moved to the brink of $50,000 from just four career starts with a second straight win at Ipswich. 

Having bolted in by more than four lengths at his previous start at the Sunshine Coast, the flashy chestnut duly repeated the dose with an effortless win in Saturday’s Benchmark 58 Handicap (1100m). 

JIMMY’S BROTHER was sent off the raging $1.60 favourite and promptly lived up to his top billing with a sustained display of speed under new jockey Jasper Franklin. 

The pair clicked instantly as Franklin took him straight to the front and the 3YO relished his front-running role to score by almost three lengths eased down, with David now keen to raise the bar with the son of Zousain.  

“The horse pulled up really well after another dominant win,” said David. 

“We’ll just keep an eye on him for the next few days but we have accepted for the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas, with Ange Jones booked for the ride. Obviously he will have to do well throughout the week for us to back him up in the race, but at this early stage I’m really happy with the horse.”
