FABULOUS FIVE FOR LOST HIS BEANS

LOST HIS BEANS extended his picket fence at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday with a thrilling victory under Ryan Maloney.

The 4YO now has five wins in a row after Maloney produced a pearler to prevail in the Benchmark 78 Handicap.

The pair were slowly away from the gates, with Maloney keen to take up a position on the fence in the early stages of the 1000m contest.

LOST HIS BEANS travelled sweetly but faced a big task to extend his winning streak with several horses blocking his path to victory.

But Maloney weaved through the field and LOST HIS BEANS found plenty late to move to $99,900 in career earnings.

“I gave him no chance at the 300-metre mark,” said David.

“I’d wanted to run him in the Class 4 over 1200 metres, but they scrapped the race due to low acceptances. So we threw a late nom in for this race, but I thought the 1000 metres might be a bit sharp for him. But the horse had other ideas and really hit the line strongly.

“He showed a great will to win, and not much gets past him. He’s got that sharp turn of foot which all good horses have. He’s an exciting horse, and he’s gone to another level this prep. He’s a much stronger horse and you can tell when he’s standing in the stalls that he really wants to be here. He wants to be a racehorse and that attitude will carry him a long way.”

Many congratulations to Mr A J W McIntyre, Thuzz Park Racing, Mr R W Mutton, Mr R W A Johnson, Mr M L Brookes, Mr J H Slorach, Mr W D Reeks, Mr B P Newton, Mr M J Morgan, Mr G W Johnson and Mr L K Brookes.
