A dashing display at Doomben saw LADY LUCIFER burst through the $100,000 mark with a third career victory.
After back to back placings at provincial grade, the 5YO stepped up to metropolitan level and promptly dispatched her rivals with a degree of disdain to prevail by almost three lengths.
Jockey Emily Lang seized the initiative after LADY LUCIFER made a fast start, taking the mare straight to the front from the wide gate.
The pair travelled sweetly throughout before LADY LUCIFER kicked clear in the closing stages to register her first metropolitan victory with some ease.
“It’s probably the most indecisive we’ve ever been with a pre-place plan,” said David.
“But full credit to Emily, she thought the mare doesn’t like to be around other horses and it looked like she was absolutely right today because she didn’t want to be anywhere near them turning for home.
“Emily thought about what she wanted to do before she got on the horse, so full marks to her for doing her homework and full marks to the mare too, because it was a terrific win.”
Many congratulations to the team at On Track and all her owners: Mr J R Carey, Mrs M D Bates, Mr D J Bates, Mr B J Warnick, Mr F J Vernon, Bayles Girls Racing, Mr P R Mcgavin, Ms S M Manning, Lock & Bob Boys, Mr G A Snow, Mrs M J Keegan, GroLim Racing, Mr C D Enders, Mr W D Phillips, Mr W C Stone and Mr B R Heness.
