TOUGH MARE RELISHES THE HOME TRACK MILE

COMMANDMENT scored her first win since arriving in Australia when the recent recruit rounded out Friday night’s Sunshine Coast meeting on a high note.

The daughter of Acclamation arrived in Queensland in mid-year, and after making a solid stable debut on her home track over 1400m she stepped up to the mile second-up.

The 6YO was ridden for the first time by Ange Jones, who kept her in a nice rhythm before asking her for an increased effort in the straight.

COMMANDMENT duly responded with a determined finish to register her first victory since saluting at Pointefract in the United Kingdom back in June 2022.

“She’d lost her way a little bit since coming over from Europe, but I quite liked her effort first-up,” said David.

“She hit the line quite well and she was obviously screaming out for the mile second-up. Ange gave her a great ride and she took the whole straight to get there, but she kept finding under pressure which is always a good sign.”

Congratulations to her sole owner, Terry McKinnon.
