BOW TIE AFFAIR scored a dynamic debut win at Ipswich on Friday to kick-start his career in the best possible fashion.
The son of Almanzor has been a work in progress, but he clearly has plenty of potential after surging home to claim a narrow victory in the Maiden Handicap.
BOW TIE AFFAIR is bred to get over further in time, but he showed plenty of dash to take out the 1350m contest and collect a cheque for $16,800.
The 4YO was on and off the bridle, but Ron Stewart got the best out of him in the closing stages and BOW TIE AFFAIR stuck his head out to pay off a chunk of his $50,000 purchase price in one hit.
“This guy has plenty of upside and it’s nice to ride a winner for David and the On Track team, who have been good supporters of mine,” said Stewart.
“He’s quite a big, gross horse, so he’ll take plenty of improvement from that. He was the best horse in the race, and he’s got plenty of scope to get out over further ground and go on with it.”
Victory took our recent record to three wins and six minor placings from our last 10 starters.
