BEAST MODE MONSTERS HIS RIVALS

BEAST MODE made a strong statement in his return to the races as he kicked off his Spring campaign with a comfortable victory at Eagle Farm.

After recording three wins and two seconds from his first five career starts, the 4YO was sent to the paddock for a well-earned spell and he came back with a bang in Wednesday’s Class 3 Handicap (1000m).

Taken straight to the front by Justin Huxtable, BEAST MODE was in cruise control for much of the race before being challenged at the 200m mark.

Despite the runner-up getting to within a length of him, BEAST MODE looked to have plenty in reserve as he took his prizemoney earnings to $135,000.

“I had to double check the times for the last 600 metres, because he was just cruising until the 300-metre mark,” said David.

“I really liked the way he pinned his ears back when the other horse came up to him and Justin gave him a shake of the reins. He’s such a relaxed horse and he seems to do everything so easily, so he needed that challenge.

“He’s got an incredible record, and he’s probably come back bigger and stronger than before. Who knows where he will end up, but he’s a good horse that’s for sure.”

Many congratulations to the team at Best Bloodstock and their fellow owners: Broady Cats, M C Horse Racing, Mr G A Horan, Mr P S Farrugia, Mr L W Chapman, Mr J K Donnelly, Mr L Brayshaw, Mr M S Newman, Mr J Fleming and Mr R Loebert.
