THE FACE RUNS THEM RAGGED

THE FACE led his rivals a merry dance as he scored his second straight city win with victory on the opening day of the Queensland Summer Carnival at the Sunshine Coast.

Having scored his first win for the stable at Doomben last start, THE FACE promptly went back-to-back thanks to an enterprising ride by Cejay Graham.

The talented apprentice has a very accurate clock in her head and she rated The FACE beautifully in front to begin her association with the son of Rubick on a winning note.

The pair went straight to the front from the gates and never saw another horse to score by three lengths and take his earnings past $350,000.

“The plan was to lead all the way and to use his high cruising speed, because we thought he was thrown in at the weight,” said David.

“I wanted to see them off the bit after rounding the corner, and it worked a treat. He’s certainly found his mojo, because it was a very dominant win.”

Victory also provided a much-needed pick-up for his connections, with one of his ownership group suffering a recent family bereavement.

Congratulations to Mr S W Smith, Mr G J Fulton, Ms V M Smith, Mr M J Hopkins, Mr J McCaig, Mr M Cleaver and Mr R H Williams.
